About Us

Compassionate veterinary care for the pets of Henbury and Bristol

Our practice has been serving local pets and owners across North Bristol since 2000.

  • A veterinarian in gray scrubs examines a cats head closely in a well-lit room. The cat is held by another person whose hands are visible. The vet is focused, wearing glasses, with certificates hanging on the wall behind.

We’re proud to be part of the Henbury community, which is why we do our utmost to support our patients, clients and the wider area.

Our experienced team members aim to provide a personal service to every pet, through developing treatment plans tailored to their specific needs.

This commitment to care also extends beyond the practice, as we regularly sponsor local events, fundraise for charities, visit local schools, give talks about animal welfare to local Scout and Women’s Institute groups and look for ways to be more sustainable as a business.

We were founded by Norwegian vets Maria Lowe and Trude Mostue, who both featured on the BBC documentary series “Vets in Practice”.

After finding premises in Henbury and transforming the building into a veterinary practice with all the mod-cons, they set out to assemble a top-notch team, many of whom are still with us today.

Maria’s husband, Andrew, soon joined the fold as practice manager and partner. Trude later left to pursue a film career.

In the years since, we’ve further expanded our facilities and services to ensure that we’re offering the very best to our lovely clients, with a 2005 extension adding a new treatment area, a dental room, kennels and a cattery to the practice.

You and your pet can find everything at one convenient site, meaning you can see the same friendly team members every time and you won’t need to move your pet between different locations for surgeries or investigations.

We have in-house surgical, laboratory, diagnostic and hospitalisation facilities, separate wards for dogs, cats and smaller pets and handy off-road parking.

As a feline centre, our premises have a separate cat entrance and cat ward, and a dedicated cat waiting area and consulting rooms.

Continuity of care is a top priority for us, and we will always try to make sure you can get an appointment with the same team members, wherever possible. Plus, we have a team of visiting specialists in orthopaedics, ultrasound and cardiology, who are available to see patients on request.

If your pet needs overnight care, we have team members living on the premises who may be able to provide overnight care, monitoring and support.

We also work with an external emergency and out of hours provider, meaning that you and your pet can count on 24/7 access to emergency care.

Don’t just take our word for it! Get in touch today, and we’ll be happy to show you around and discuss how we can help keep your pet healthy and happy.
