Alabama Rot in Dogs.
We have had many enquiries about this rare disease over the past few days. Alabama Rot starts as skin lesions on the dog's legs (and possibly on the face) and over the next ten days can develop into Acute Kidney Failure. Since 2012 there have been 71 cases in the whole of the UK, with the closest to Bristol at the present time being a case in Wiltshire. At present we do not know what is causing this terrible disease, however we advise that if you see any ulcerated skin on your dog, especially on the feet, to get in touch with your vet.
